Yes, there is a long, meandering, sand beach in Sellwood. Even better: it doubles as an off-leash dog park. There’s a crickety old amusement park with a skating rink straight from the seventies. Basically, Sellwood is sweet as hell. It has always been its own little world, sitting by the Willamette river, far south from its other East Portland cousins. Maybe that’s why it feels so cozy and unique.
