With this Southeast neighborhood between Burnside and Division, we’re obviously just talking about Mt. Tabor Park. The surrounding neighborhood is walkable (but steep of course), quiet, and full of sweet 1940s houses. But, you guys, Mt. Tabor is an actual, straight up volcano. It is Portland’s prized east side vista of downtown. It’s almost 200 acres of trails, picnic tables, grass for picnic blankets, looming old trees, and three blue-as-hell reservoirs connected by punishing, narrow staircases. And that view though! To share a neighborhood with Mt Tabor Park is a major treat. You're elevated, but you’re not isolated. It's close to growing commercial streets with coffee shops and restaurants.
